Background: Spinal cord involvement is an important cause of disability in patients with multiple sclerosis or neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSDs). Multiple sclerosis and NMOSDs can be distinguished from other disorders that cause myelopathy by results from laboratory and radiological investigations.
