Background: Few studies have investigated the association between cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) impairment and coronary artery disease (CAD) and the mediating mechanism. Therefore, we investigated the impact of skeletal muscle mass (SMM) on the relationship between CRF and coronary artery disease (CAD) in elderly people.
